National Testing Agency (NTA) invites online applications form for Joint CSIR-UGC NET December-2022/ June-2023 examination to determine the eligibility of Indiannationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS) /Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. All eligible and interested male and female candidates can apply online at CSIR NET website csirnet.nta.nic.in from 10th March 2023 to till application closing date 10th April 2023 for CSIR UGC NET examination 2023. Eligibility Criteria For CSIR UGC NET 2023
M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ BS-4 years/ BE/ B. Tech/ B. Pharma/ MBBS with at least 55% (without rounding off) marks for General (UR)/General-EWSand 50% (without rounding off) for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST, Third gender andPersonswith Disability (PwD) candidates.
Candidates enrolled for M.Sc. or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on the closing date of online submission of Application Form, are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category
B.Sc. (Hons.) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in IntegratedMS-PhD program with at least 55%^ (without rounding off) marks for General (UR)/General-EWS; 50%^ (without rounding off) marks for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST, Third gender, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply CSIR UGC NET 2023
Candidates with Bachelor’s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D./Integrated Ph.D. program within the validity period of two years. Candidates possessing only Bachelor’s degree are eligible to applyonlyforJunior Research Fellowship (JRF) and not for Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professor. ^(without rounding off)
Upper Age Limit:
- JRF: Maximum 28 years as on 01/07/2022* {upper age limit may be relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ ST/ Third gender/ Persons with Disability (PwD) / female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). *This age limit is applicable for the current examination cycle only
- Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.

The CSIR NET question paper 2023 will be divided into three sections- Part A, B and C. CSIR UGC NET 2023
- Part ‘A’ shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Aptitude. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions for two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.
- The CSIR NET Part A consists of General Aptitude questions that assess the candidates’ teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension skills, divergent thinking and general awareness.
- The CSIR NET Part B and C consist of questions that are based on the subjects chosen by candidates from the following five subjects – Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.
- The exam shall be for a duration of three hours.
- There is no break between all three parts.
- The exam carries a weightage of 200 marks.
- Negative marking of 25 per cent (33 per cent for a few parts) for each wrong answer.
